After searching for years to find a location to build their vacation home, the homeowners finally found the perfect property overlooking Lake Pepin in Wisconsin. The home would be used for weekend getaways with family and friends. The architectural plans lacked the impact the client desired, so the space was rearranged to create symmetry and take advantage of the spectacular views of Lake Pepin and the birch forest.
A lower prep sink cabinet, located on the end of the island with a butcher block top, keeps the island sight lines uninterrupted and also hides some of the prep mess. The fresh white color palette feels cheerful and sunny and modern, achieving a modern, farmhouse aesthetic.
